SAFEGUARDING POLICY STATEMENT

Relevant UK Ministries partners with churches and organisations to hold events to inspire, equip and resource the local church to reach out to those around them and the next generation. Relevant events see people from many different churches, and none, coming together. To ensure that Relevant provides safe spaces for all attendees, volunteers and staff a Safeguarding Policy is in place. Relevant is committed to:

  • Promoting a safer environment and culture.
  • Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility related to children, young people and vulnerable adults within the church.
  • Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation.
  • Working alongside our partner churches to ensure anyone affected by safeguarding issues are cared for pastorally.
  • Responding to those that may pose a present risk to others.
 
Relevant UK Ministries will:
  • Create a safe and caring place for all.
  • Safely recruit, train and support all those with any responsibility for children, young people and adults to have the confidence and skills to recognise and respond to abuse.
  • Ensure that there is appropriate insurance cover for all activities involving children and adults undertaken in the name of the parish.
  • Display on their website the email address to contact if there are safeguarding concerns or support needs.
  • Listen to and take seriously all those who disclose abuse.
  • Take steps to protect children and adults when a safeguarding concern of any kind arises.
  • Work with partner churches to offer support to victims/survivors of abuse regardless of the type of abuse, when or where it occurred.
  • Care for and monitor any member of the church community who may pose a risk to children and adults whilst maintaining appropriate confidentiality and the safety of all parties.
  • Ensure that health and safety policy, procedures and risk assessments are in place and that these are reviewed annually.
  • Review the implementation of the Safeguarding Policy, Procedures and Practices at least annually.

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) POLICY STATEMENT

Relevant UK Ministries is committed to protecting the personal data ad respecting the rights of our data subjects; the people whose personal data we collect and use. We value the personal information entrusted to us and we respect that trust by complying with all relevant laws, and adopting good practice.

We process personal data to help us:
  • Maintain attendee lists for ticketed event and communicate with attendees
  • Communicate with those using Relevant UKs resources and attending events with regards to upcoming news
  • Safeguard children, young people and adults
  • Recruit, support and manage staff and volunteers
  • Promote our goods and services
  • Respond effectively to enquirers and handle and complaints
  • Provide services to the community 
  • Support people pastorally

The GDPR policy has been reviewed by the trustees and is reviewed annually to ensure we comply with our legal obligations.

This policy sets out the measures we are committed to taking as an organisation.
In particular, we will make sure that personal data is:
  • Processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner
  • Processed for specified and legitimate purposes and not in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes
  • Adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary for the purposes it is being processed
  • Accurate and, where necessary, up to date
  • Not kept longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is being processed
  • Processed in a secure manner using appropriate organisational means 
  • Processed in keeping within the rights of data subjects regarding their personal data

Under data protection legislation, Relevant UK Ministires is the data controller and can be contacted by emailing GDPR@RelevantUK.com you may request your data is removed from our records at any time, this will be actioned upon request.
